What we do

About this Website

Flash Design & Development

Would you use a sledgehammer to open a wine bottle? How about a nail file to fight off a grizzly bear? There are appropriate tools for certain jobs and in the case of trying to illustrate Northridge Interactive's skills, it sure made sense to incorporate Flash in an intelligent way. The Portfolio section of NorthridgeInteractive.com seemed like the right place in terms of the purpose and information needing to be presented. We aren't big fans of an all Flash site where your browser's back button is rendered useless and search engines can't find much, but it seemed like the right tool for the job in this case.

Content Management

The predecessor to this site was pretty good from an information architecture and design perspective, but we fell into that trap where we just couldn't get around to updating it with all of the client work needing our attention. Now that we have grown a bit more since that time, we have a marketing team that can ensure the site shows our best work, stays optimized for search engine efforts, and continues to share exciting developments. By tying all aspects of the site from the press releases to the Flash portfolio together in our Content Management Framework, the marketing team can stay on top of updating the site without any development resources or knowledge of code.

Search Engine Marketing

We aren't just sitting back and relying on people to find our site. For both Northridge.com and NorthridgeInteractive.com, we have an extensive yet focused use of pay-per-click campaigns. Also, our Content Management Framework allows us to control various attributes at a page level to optimize for organic search engine performance including natural language URLs (not strings of wierd characters and numbers), title tags, meta tags, and more. We monitor how many of these factors are married with the content and use tools to help show how our rankings are moving up and down to influence how we should refine various elements.
