AFTCO is the oldest and largest dental practice transition consulting firm in the United States. AFTCO assists dentists with the purchase, sale, or merger of dental practices, often as part of an overall retirement planning process. AFTCO has the largest selection of dental practice opportunities nationwide and over 150 programs customized to meet the needs of buyers and sellers of dental practices.
Business Challenge
AFTCO sought to improve its public website presence while also developing a robust intranet business application that would be used by AFTCO analysts and employees to manage the entire business. The public website needed to communicate not only the core services of the company, but also the thought leadership AFTCO provides to the industry, thus cementing its place as a true leader in the dental practice transition marketplace. AFTCO also needed to provide its analysts and employees with better internal tools to market, provide services, and share knowledge.
Solution Approach
While the two web properties had very unique requirements, there were several areas where content and functionality intersected. Starting with an extensive Analyze & Define stage, NRi worked with AFTCO staff including marketing, finance, analysts, and executive leadership to identify functional requirements for the corporate intranet application. As the intranet moved into the Build & Deploy stage, NRi turned its focus to the public website. The public website was architected, designed, and developed to be a clearinghouse of information for buyers and sellers to establish AFTCO as the leader in the industry. Both custom solutions were developed on a .NET and SQL Server platform. NRi also provided assistance in setting up the infrastructure to host the two properties.
Results Delivered
Immediately following the launch of the new intranet, analysts had more access to timely information, customer data, and marketing tools to allow them to do their job more efficiently leading to higher client satisfaction and deal velocity. The public website increased performance specific to organic search marketing resulting in higher volume of better qualified traffic. Due to the success of these initiatives, AFTCO continues to engage NRi for additional functionality.
