Northridge Honored with a 2009 SILVER ADDY® Award

Northridge Interactive, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner in Atlanta, has been awarded a 2009 SILVER ADDY by the American Advertising Federation Atlanta Chapter for its work on the viral CNNBC election online video campaign and website.

Presented by the Atlanta Ad Club (AAC), the premier creative resource for Atlanta’s advertising and creative professionals, the Atlanta ADDY Awards are the Southeast’s largest advertising awards competition, and the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry.

Northridge’s CNNBC Interactive Media entry features viral functionality wherein a user enters the name and email address of a friend, who then receives a link to a personalized news video. The viral video was also recently selected by Time Magazine as one of the Top 10 Viral Videos of 2008, and was viewed more than 21 million times in the weeks surrounding the 2008 Presidential election.

About the Atlanta ADDY® Awards

ShowSouth produces the Atlanta ADDY Awards each year to recognize excellence in interactive design and advertising among Atlanta Web designers. The American Advertising Federation began the award competition, which is now the largest in the world. With its reputation as the toughest advertising competition, the ADDYs receive over 600,000 entries annually from members all over the world. All forms of advertising are judged including interactive media and come from more than 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts.

ShowSouth, a production company in Atlanta, hosts the Atlanta ADDY Awards each year. Atlanta Web designers are encouraged to enter the competition for a chance to win and continue on to the national level. Entering the competition supports the advertising industry in Atlanta and around the nation. ShowSouth uses the proceeds to develop such programs as public service, internships, education, and awareness in the Atlanta advertising industry.

The most creative entry in each category is determined by a scoring process. A panel of judges evaluates each entry for its creative dimensions. A GOLD ADDY represents the highest level lever of creative excellence. SILVER ADDYs are given to those in the category considered outstanding and worthy of recognition. The winners of the local Atlanta ADDY awards move on in the three-tiered process to the national level.
